Sojourners Art Journals Group
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
“We made a star book with inserts made by each member. The inserts are two sided. On one side there is an image that the individual felt represented peace. On the other side there are words that represent peace.
“We are a group of adult women who participate in a round-robin art journaling group. Each month each member creates art for one of the other members and places it in her journal. The owner of the journal does not see any of the art work in her journal until the end of the year, when we have a ‘reveal’ day and pot-luck meal together. The monthly meetings focus on art, creativity, community, as well as art skills sharing where one or more of our members will share a new-found technique or workshop. The purpose is to explore the idea that art is and should be an integral part of all our lives, both individually and as a community. Your project is an opportunity for us to move this to a broader level. We are delighted to participate.”
Their book was sent to their GAP partner Pima Painting Club, Tucson, Arizona, USA.
