White Poppies of Peace

“After researching various PEACE symbols, I learned that the White Poppy is a peace symbol advocating for an end to war, specifically in the UK in 1933 and in the distribution of the white poppies as a pledge of peace and a commitment to not returning to war in 1934.
“I used a 12” x 12” canvas, texturing it with paper collage elements glued to the canvas and stenciling shapes with modeling paste. I painted with acrylics over this base using soft, modeled colors. In the upper left background is a dove with an olive branch.
“THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE PART OF THIS EXCHANGE.
