“My name is Diane McKay and I am now living in Arizona, USA. Art has fed me lifelong. As a high school student, I learned art techniques of the Corita Kent method (a human rights pacifist, she designed the 1985 Love U.S. postage stamp). I was selling my mixed-media art pieces while still a student.
“This peace project was inspired by my work on the campaign of pacifist presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy in 1968 when I was 16 years old, as well as the influence of an artist I was very close to at that time who became a casualty of the Vietnam war: I have included designs on this piece that he created more than 50 years ago. My mother was a pacifist, and I have followed that path my entire life.”
