Peace of Thread
Muskan Madaan, Grade 12 Student at Queen’s Valley School
New Delhi, India
Muskan created her art for her exchange partner in Odorheiu Secuiesc, Harghita, Romania.
“‘Peace of Thread’ is an artwork I created where a crocheted dove rests upon the earth nestled in a place homely enough for it to be at peace. Through this piece, I wanted to explore the idea that peace isn’t simply the absence of war or conflict. True peace is when we, as humans, find comfort in our own surroundings and create spaces where our humanity can thrive."

Muskan organized students at Queen’s Valley School to participate in the 2024 Global Art Project for Peace exchange. Muskan’s video of art created by students at Queen’s Valley School that she helped organize.
Message from Muskan to the Global Art Project for Peace:
“Hi Katherine
“Thank you so much for everything you’ve done over the past 30 years. It’s amazing to think about how many people you’ve brought together through art and peace. I feel honoured to have witnessed the impact that the project has made on so many lives, including mine.
“It has been a huge journey, and I can only imagine how much time and effort it’s taken. You’ve created something so powerful and meaningful, and I’m sure its legacy will last far beyond the final exchange."
With admiration,
Muskan Madaan
